History of The King Edward VII sovereign

The sovereign gold coin is a highly esteemed piece of numismatic history, minted during the reign of King Edward VII of the United Kingdom, who ruled from 1901 to 1910. The obverse of the King Edward VII sovereign features a right-facing portrait of King Edward VII. The reverse showcases St. George slaying the dragon, a design by Benedetto Pistrucci. Why should I buy a Best Value Sovereign

If you are looking to invest in gold, Best Value Sovereigns are the best and most Popular British stock with investors because of their low premiums.

Affordability: Sovereigns provide an affordable entry point for investors looking to acquire gold bullion. The lower premium of best value gold means you pay closer to the intrinsic value of the gold content, making it a cost-effective investment. If you are looking to buy UK Gold for investment purposes, best value sovereigns are the best way to do this.

What do low premiums mean for me? When you buy best-value sovereigns with low premiums, you can maximise your potential returns on your investment. One of the primary benefits of purchasing best value sovereigns with low premiums is that you're essentially paying close to the actual gold value content of the coin. This means you're not paying a premium over the intrinsic worth of the gold, maximizing the value of your investment.

Diversification: Investing in sovereign coins with low premiums allows you to diversify your investment portfolio. Gold bullion is known for its ability to hedge against economic uncertainties and inflation, providing stability and diversification to your overall investment.

Why is the Best Value Sovereign more liquid? Best value Sovereign coins with low premiums are highly liquid assets, meaning they are easy to sell to any global bullion dealer, unlike collectors coins which often go to auctions and incur auction fees. Should you need to liquidate your investment quickly, you can do so with minimal hassle and no selling costs.

Collectability: Some sovereign coins with low premiums may still have numismatic value or historical significance, making them appealing to collectors. This dual investment potential enhances the overall value of your investment.

In summary, purchasing best value sovereigns with low premiums offers affordability, higher potential returns, diversification, liquidity, and potential collectability. These factors make them an attractive option for investors seeking to add gold bullion to their investment portfolios.

Bullion Grade

Bullion Grade coins are our most popular and sought after coins amongst investors focused on buying at the lowest prices. Retaining their gold value perfectly, these coins are mixed dates and circulated. Coins that are bullion grade show wear consistent with the heritage of the coin, and are the best value coins that you can buy for their weight and purity.

Better Than Bullion

Any coin rated higher than bullion grade will show less surface scratching than expected for a coin of its minted year, will have fewer knocks to the surface. These coins may have been in protective packaging for some time during their circulation and must be considered aesthetically better than bullion grade. Most likely these coins will be later minted years or very good quality older coins.

As Good As New

These coins are essentially as good as new, little to no surface scratches beautiful in quality and no knock or noticeable scuff marks. Coins rated at this point in our scale are most likely to have been capsuled or contained within packaging for the majority of their circulation. Just a little lower than the official rating of Mint Condition as they will have been handled more frequently than mint coins, however please note these coins have still been in circulation.

Mint Condition

These coins are mint condition, fresh of the press and perfectly preserved from print to packaging. Please note that Mint Stock, does not mean untouched by hands- but this condition coin ranking is as good as a gold coin comes to perfection.

Quick Tips For Investors

A good tip for investors looking to expand or even start a gold portfolio is to compare the premiums that you are paying over the market price of gold. It is often the case that gold coins have a lower premium over the pure gold value than other items. Essentially, the lower the premium % the more gold you get for your money.

Gold coins also have the added advantage that they are often manufactured at a lower cost than small denominations gold bars, making them a cheaper alternative to the same equivalent of weight in gold bars. For example you might find that some of our most popular 1 Ounce Gold Coins are slightly lower in price than the 1 Ounce Gold bars. You might also want to sell off in potentially smaller amounts, making gold coins the more advantageous purchase.
